Tow Truck Driver (Non-CDL) — $22.50–$28.50/hr Full-Time

Wilbert's U-Pull It, a family-owned auto recycling company based in Webster, NY, needs a full-time rollback tow truck driver to retrieve purchased vehicles from locations across Western NY. You'll work directly with customers selling their vehicles, handling the pickup process from start to finish, and you won't need a CDL for this role.

Pay

• $22.50 to $28.50 per hour, paid weekly

What you'll do

• Drive a rollback tow truck to recover vehicles bought by the company from various customer locations

• Inspect your truck before each trip and report any issues to management

• Inspect recovered vehicles to meet company standards

• Handle the purchase transaction, including cash or check payment to the seller

• Manage a cash till during your shift

• Complete required paperwork and use company software to track and manage vehicle recoveries

• Coordinate with the Contact Center and CSR II to stay efficient

• Use your personal cell phone to stay in touch with customers and coworkers

• Hand out marketing materials to customers about other services the company offers

• Possibly operate a forklift or other heavy equipment if licensed

• Follow all DOT rules and local, state and federal traffic and safety laws

• Keep yourself and your truck looking clean and professional

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

• Must be 21 or older (insurance requirement)

• 2+ years of tow truck experience preferred

• Valid driver's license; towing endorsement preferred

• No major driving violations (such as DUI or excessive speeding) that would prevent insurance coverage

• Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods, climbing, bending, kneeling and crouching

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally (with help or lifting equipment for heavier items)

• Willing to consent to a background and substance check

• Willing to work weekends

Working conditions

You'll be working outdoors in all weather, near moving machinery, and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. This is a smoke-free worksite.
