About this job
Our company is hiring overnight regional tractor-trailer drivers at its Shelby, NC facility. You are paid by the mile, are home every week with consecutive days off, and deliver no-touch freight.
Pay
- Mileage rate of $0.55 - $0.69 per mile, depending on location and miles driven
- Extra activity pay on top of mileage for things like hooks, live loads, layovers, stops, chains and evening shifts
- Some events, such as breakdowns, weather closures and wait time, pay activity pay only
- Average Daily Pay of $240 per day applies to PTO, safety days, holidays and full-day our company events
- our company says regional drivers can earn up to $110,000 in their first year
- Quarterly safety bonuses and yearly raises
Home time
- Home weekly, with consecutive days off every week
What you'll do
- Plan your day and keep freight moving safely and on time
- Complete paperwork and electronic logs accurately, following DOT, state and company rules
- Inspect your tractor-trailer before, during and after each trip
- Follow optimized routes and local restrictions to avoid delays
Requirements
- Class A CDL with a Hazmat endorsement and cleared background check, or get the endorsement within 120 days of hire
- 30 months of full-time Class A driving in the past 3 years, or completion of our company's Fleet Development Academy
- No more than 2 moving violations and no serious violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years
- No preventable DOT recordable accidents in the last 10 years, and none involving a fatality or catastrophic injury ever
- Live within 250 miles of Shelby, or move within that distance within 90 days of hire
