About this job
Our company is looking for independent contractors to haul units across the country on over-the-road runs. You pick the loads that work for your schedule, but you'll need to stay active with at least a few loads each month. This is strictly a 1099 contractor position, not a company job or a traditional owner-operator setup.
Pay
- Earn between $0.72 and $1.55 per mile, with the exact rate depending on the load and which division you run in
- Most divisions also add a fuel surcharge on top of mileage pay
- Same-day payment is possible once your paperwork and logs are submitted and approved
- Extra earning opportunities include bonuses for referrals, clean inspections, mileage, loads, and safety
What you'll haul
- Work is available across several divisions: Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom
- Typical hauls run 300 to 800 miles depending on customer needs
- You'll run solo; despite the company name, this is not a team driving setup
Schedule
- Complete roughly 3 to 5 loads per month to stay active in the program
- You choose which loads to run while keeping in weekly contact with your dispatcher
Requirements
- Hold a current Class A or Class B CDL; Deck roles need a Double/Triple endorsement
- At least 1 year of verifiable OTR commercial driving experience in the past 3 years (Deck roles need 2 years OTR plus 1 year of decking/un-decking experience)
- Rideshare or delivery app driving doesn't count toward your experience
- A reasonably clean driving history and steady work background
- Able to supply DOT numbers from past employers and records of companies you've hauled for in the last 3 years
- Strong understanding of HOS rules, with daily electronic logging through the Motive app (no paper logs accepted)
- Bring your own tools and equipment for decking and un-decking
- Submit paperwork promptly and stay in close contact with dispatch
- Arrive on time for every pickup and delivery
- Use MacroPoint for load tracking, and document every load with photos plus proper pre- and post-trip inspections
- Cover your own fuel costs and try to keep at least a quarter tank during transport
- Carry escrow, occupational/accidental insurance, and deductible buy-back insurance (details given during application)
Benefits
This is a 1099 contractor role, so no company benefits are offered.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
