OTR CDL-A Tanker Driver — $90,000–$150,000 per Year

Our company, a family-owned bulk liquid carrier, is hiring over-the-road CDL-A tanker drivers to haul liquid bulk materials across the country. Expect long stretches away from home, typically 7+ consecutive days, with home time planned around operations and your preferences.

What you'll do

• Drive long-haul across multiple regions, delivering bulk liquids safely and on time

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to meet DOT rules and company safety policies

• Load and unload tanker trucks, which often means working with hoses and pumps under strict safety protocols

• Keep accurate records of trips, inspections and any incidents

• Stay in touch with dispatch and customers to coordinate deliveries and schedules

• Follow all federal, state and local rules for hazardous materials transport

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A

• Tanker (N) endorsement

• At least 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experience

• Age 23 or older

• Clean MVR and a strong safety record

• Able to pass a DOT physical, drug screening and background check

• Safety-minded, dependable and comfortable working on your own

• Open to flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations when needed

• Hazmat (H) endorsement preferred; if you don't have it, you must get it within 90 days of hire, and help is available

• TWIC card preferred, or you get one after hire

Driver vetting standards

• Verifiable tanker experience of at least 2 years within the last 5 years

• No DUI/OWI in the past 5 years

• Not prohibited in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse

• No at-fault or preventable fatal or rollover accidents in the past 5 years

• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years, and no more than 2 CSA moving violations in the past 18 months

• No falsified information on your application

• Current X endorsement

Safety and training

• Paid new hire training, with at least 1 week in person, led by the Safety Department

• Mandatory quarterly safety meetings for the whole fleet

• HM 232 Compliance & Emergency Response Plan provided

• General Awareness testing under 49 CFR 172-part H

• Drug & Alcohol Policy and DOT Compliance program

• Forward-facing cameras on all Altom and contractor equipment, and governed company trucks

• Incident & Accident Investigation Program, including driver reporting and injury investigations

• RCMS Certified / HSE policy

• PPE provided, with replacement guidelines
