About this job
Our company is hiring local CDL-A drivers out of Broussard, LA to run an assigned route in a tractor-trailer and hand-deliver food and supplies to customers. Most drivers are home every night.
What you'll haul
- Meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods and other supplies
- This is touch freight: you unload and deliver by hand at each stop
Pay
- Described as excellent pay with productivity incentives; no amounts are listed
Home time
- Most drivers have daily routes and are home nightly
Requirements
- Age 21 or older
- Valid Class A CDL and a driving record that meets the company's insurability standards
- Pass employment testing
- Enough English to talk with the public, read road signs, answer official questions and fill out reports
- Able to repeatedly lift or move product averaging 40-60 lb, up to 100 lb
- Open to overtime, weekends and holidays when the business needs it
- Nice to have: 1 year of customer delivery, 6 months with hand carts, 6 months in food and beverage, and 2 years of steady work history
