About this job
Our company is hiring an OTR CDL-A driver to haul chemicals and hazardous materials across the country. Expect to be on the road for a minimum of three weeks at a stretch, making this a fit for drivers who enjoy independence and travel.
What you'll haul
- Chemicals, gases and other hazardous goods in tractor-trailer combinations
- Temperature-controlled and hazmat-customized trailers
Home time
- Out on the road for at least three weeks before returning home
Responsibilities
- Deliver freight safely, following FMCSR, OSHA, DOT and RCRA rules
- Inspect your truck before and after each trip and log any defects
- Keep accurate logs of hours, vehicle service, and delivery paperwork
- Verify shipments against bills of lading and get signatures on delivery
- Apply correct DOT placards and secure loads for transport
- Pick up empty containers from customer sites as needed
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
- At least 1 year of hazmat driving experience
- High school diploma
- Valid DOT medical card
- Basic computer literacy
