Haul vehicles over long-distance routes as an OTR car hauler, moving cars to dealerships, auctions, or customer locations using tractor-trailers set up for auto transport.

What you'll haul

• Vehicles transported on tractor-trailers equipped for automobile hauling, including refrigerated or flatbed setups

• Deliveries made to dealerships, auctions, or customer locations on long-haul routes

What you'll do

• Plan and follow routes using GPS while staying within FMCSA rules

• Load and unload vehicles by hand, securing cargo properly to prevent damage in transit

• Follow DOT and hazardous materials rules when hauling dangerous goods

• Run pre-trip and post-trip checks on the truck and trailer, watching for mechanical problems and confirming the load is secure

• Keep accurate records of hours driven, inspections, and cargo paperwork per FMCSA rules

• Stay in contact with dispatch on route changes, delivery timing, and any issues on the road

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A with a clean driving record and experience hauling vehicles with tractor-trailers

• Background in delivery driving, freight handling, or OTR logistics

• Comfortable working with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized hauling equipment

• Working knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and hazmat rules and safety practices

• Able to drive manual transmission trucks and manage manual loading and unloading

• Strong GPS-based route planning skills for long trips

• Careful, safety-focused approach to handling and securing cargo
