Non-CDL Box Truck Driver — Local, Home Same Day

Our company in Carteret, NJ needs a dependable driver to run a 28 ft box truck on local same-day routes. You'll be home the same day, with hours that vary based on the freight schedule.

What you'll haul

• Freight moved in a 28 ft box truck

• Routes cover local areas plus PA and NY

• You'll hand-load and unload cargo and secure it properly for transport

Pay

• $1,000.00 - $1,200.00 per week

Home time

• Local, same-day routes - you return home each day

• Hours vary by day

Requirements

• Solid background driving commercial trucks, including delivery and route work

• Comfortable with manual transmission and with loading/unloading procedures

• Understanding of how to handle different freight types, including dangerous goods, tanker loads, flatbed cargo and vehicle transport

• Valid CDL with any endorsements needed for the freight you're hauling (for example Hazmat or Tanker)

• Working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT rules, hazmat regulations and safety practices for local routes

• Able to use GPS and route-planning tools to keep deliveries on schedule

What the job involves

• Running pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, including hazmat compliance checks when applicable

• Keeping accurate records of driving hours, deliveries and cargo paperwork per FMCSA rules

• Staying in touch with dispatch to coordinate stops and sort out any route or cargo issues
