Local Truck Driver — $20–$26/hr

This local delivery role has you driving commercial trucks around Essex, CT, handling different trailer types depending on the load. You could be assigned a tractor-trailer, a refrigerated trailer, a flatbed, a tanker, or even an auto-transport setup.

Pay

• $20.00 to $26.00 per hour

• Around 40 hours a week expected

What you'll haul

• General freight on planned local routes

• Occasionally hazardous materials or other dangerous goods if you're qualified and assigned to them

• Possible equipment includes refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or vehicles for auto transport

What you'll do

• Follow scheduled routes and complete deliveries

• Check your vehicle and cargo before heading out

• Load, unload, and secure freight by hand using safe practices

• Navigate with GPS and report any route or delivery problems

• Keep accurate trip and delivery paperwork

Requirements

• Experience driving trucks commercially, including delivery or route work

• Comfortable handling a tractor-trailer and manual transmission when needed; background with reefers, flatbeds, tankers, or car hauling is a plus

• Familiarity with FMCSA and DOT rules, including hazmat regulations if you'll be hauling dangerous goods

• Able to manually load and unload freight and manage cargo logistics safely

• Valid commercial driving credentials matching the vehicle and cargo you're assigned
