About this job
Our company is looking for a DZ-licensed driver to run local routes out of Guelph, Ontario, delivering finished goods and picking up supplies across the GTA and Golden Triangle area. You'll drive a 28-foot straight truck on a Monday-to-Friday schedule, with no overnight stays or long-haul trips, though start and end times can shift based on delivery needs.
Pay
- $22.00-$28.00 per hour
Home time
- Local routes only, home every day with no overnight travel
What you'll haul
- Finished products and materials moved between customers, suppliers, and facilities within the GTA and Golden Triangle region, using a 28-foot straight truck
Responsibilities
- Plan and run daily delivery and pickup routes
- Check loads against shipping paperwork before and after transport
- Secure cargo properly to avoid shifting or damage
- Get proof-of-delivery signatures and handle customer communication
- Perform routine truck inspections and flag maintenance issues
- Help load and unload freight and move goods between buildings using a lift truck when needed
Requirements
- Valid Ontario DZ licence in good standing
- Clean driving abstract
- Prior experience driving a straight truck or similar vehicle
- Current lift truck certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and time-management skills
