DZ Truck Driver — Snow Plow & Salt/Sand Spreader Operator

The our company is hiring a truck driver to operate a combination salt/sand spreader unit with a front-mounted plow and side wing out of the Frobisher Depot. This is a limited-term union position expected to run until April 30, 2027, working 80 hours bi-weekly with shift work required.

Pay

• $32.95 per hour at full qualification

• $31.30 per hour if hired under the development opportunity rate, until you meet the minimum qualifications

What you'll do

• Drive heavy or light trucks fitted with plows, wings and spreaders to clear and treat roads, lanes and parking areas

• Move staff, supplies and equipment as needed

• Load and unload cargo by hand or with equipment

• Attach and detach truck accessories

• Check your vehicle daily, keep it clean, top off fluids and report any issues

• Log vehicle activity and oversee up to two coworkers on routine tasks

Requirements

• High school diploma (Grade 12)

• At least 2 years of experience driving a truck

• Valid Class DZ licence with a clean driving record

• Comfortable working shifts and being on call for winter events, with a phone for contact

• Basic mechanical know-how to operate equipment without causing damage

• Strong written and spoken English

• Good health, attendance and work history
