About this job
Our company is hiring a full-time local CDL-A driver in Maspeth, NY to run LTL pickups and deliveries using a day cab tractor pulling a 48' or 53' trailer.
Pay
- $36.65 per hour
- Paid weekly every Friday by direct deposit
- Overtime kicks in after 40 hours
Home time
- Home every day, Monday through Friday
What you'll haul
- LTL freight picked up and dropped off at various customer sites
- Lift gate deliveries, with loading and unloading at stops as needed
- Runs use modern day cab tractors
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Hazmat endorsement needed from day one
- Tanker endorsement either in hand already or obtained within your first 90 days
- At least 1 year of recent experience driving tractor trailers
- A non-excepted interstate DOT medical card, current or obtainable
- Minimum age 21
- Driving record with three or fewer moving violations and/or accidents in the past three years (reviewed case by case)
- Able to read, write and speak English for clear communication
- Must qualify for and keep a TSA security clearance
- You'll also handle pre-trip and post-trip inspections, keep the tractor and freight secure, follow FMCSA rules, and maintain good communication with customers
