About this job
Our company in Elizabeth, NJ is hiring a CDL-A driver for local port work, running company trucks Monday through Friday. You will move freight safely and on time, and the role calls for port experience and a TWIC card.
Pay
- $325 a day
- Every new driver goes through a paid training week
Schedule
- Monday to Friday in a company truck
- Mostly local port runs, with some OTR runs possible
Requirements
- Class A CDL
- TWIC card (mandatory)
- At least 1 year working in port environments
- Good safety record and dependable attendance
- Comfortable with both local and OTR assignments
What you'll do
- Inspect the truck before and after each trip and report any problems or damage immediately
- Follow traffic laws, industry rules and company safety standards
- Work courteously with customers and warehouse staff and sort out delivery issues quickly
- Record each day's trips, including mileage, fuel used, delivery times and incidents, and complete shipping paperwork and receipts
Location
- Work is on site in Elizabeth, NJ 07201; living near Elizabethport, NJ 07206 is preferred
