About this job
Premier Metals, a scrap metal recycling company in Rochester, NY, needs a local CDL-A driver with manual transmission experience to run bin pickups and deliveries for its customers.
What you'll haul
- You'll run local routes within 60-90 minutes of the facility, picking up bins at customer sites and bringing them back to the yard.
- Expect 3-4 loads per day. A forklift handles most loading and unloading, though you may pitch in with some manual labor to support the warehouse crew.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with Saturdays available on a flexible basis.
- Overtime is available.
Pay
- $32.00/hour.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with manual transmission experience, plus a current DOT medical card.
- Verifiable truck driving experience with a class A van trailer.
- Clean driving record with no recent moving or driving violations.
- Comfortable using onboard tech like GPS, AVL units and CB radios.
- Solid grasp of trucking regulations and able to adjust on the fly to things like traffic or weather.
- Willing to help with light physical tasks when needed, and able to keep accurate logs, inspection reports and documentation of your hours, miles, fuel and tolls.
- A team-oriented attitude and professionalism when dealing with coworkers and customers.
