Local CDL-A Intermodal Driver — Home Daily, $78,000 Avg/Yr

Drive local intermodal routes out of Mechanicville, NY and be home every day. This is a slip-seat position hauling mostly no-touch freight within about 250 miles of the yard, with no trips into NYC.

Pay

• Drivers average $78,000 a year based on recent activity

• Mileage pay runs $0.46 to $0.52 per mile

• $5,000 sign-on bonus for a limited time

• Detention pay of $23-$28 per hour after the first hour

• $40 per stop for drop and hook

• $65 per stop for live loading or unloading

• $45 per stop when you handle the load yourself

• Extra activity-based pay opportunities, including bonus pay for hazmat loads if you hold the endorsement

• $200 per day during new-hire training

• $210 per day for holiday work

• Paid online orientation

Home time

You'll return home daily. The truck stays at the ramp while you're off, and this runs as a slip-seat operation with company-owned equipment.

What you'll haul

Mostly no-touch intermodal freight, operating within roughly a 250-mile radius of Mechanicville, NY. The route excludes New York City.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• Qualified to operate a tractor-trailer

• Able to report to Mechanicville, NY each day

• Comfortable with a local, home-daily, slip-seat schedule within the 250-mile operating area

• Willing to follow company safety policies

• Hazmat endorsement not required, but it opens up extra pay

• Able to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background/MVR checks

• Willing to work the assigned schedule, which may include some holidays (Thanksgiving and New Year's could be workdays; Christmas is off)
