Local CDL-A Flatbed Driver — 3+ Years Experience

Our company in Odessa, TX needs a local CDL-A driver with flatbed experience to handle secure, oversized loads.

What you'll do

• Review bills of lading and confirm load details before each run

• Check cargo for quantity, condition, and secure placement, using chains, binders, straps, or tarps

• Follow safety rules for hauling oversized freight

• Line up the truck for loading and unloading based on crew signals

• Use onboard computers, GPS, CB radio, or phone to stay in touch with dispatch and other drivers

• Hook and unhook trailers, including air and electrical lines and fifth-wheel locks

• Inspect the trailer after unloading for any damage

• Keep the truck's mechanical, safety, and emergency gear in working condition

• Report any defects, accidents, violations, or damage right away

• Log your hours and vehicle service records per state and federal rules

• Handle basic upkeep like checking oil, fuel, or radiator fluid, or small repairs

• Collect signatures, receipts, or payment on delivery when needed

Requirements

• At least 3 years of Class A driving experience

• Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 2 years

• 2 years of flatbed experience, most recently with 53' flatbed trailers and 3-axle conventional sleeper trucks

• Oversized load hauling experience preferred

• Comfortable securing all kinds of flatbed freight with chains, binders, and straps
