Our company in Newark, NJ needs a Local CDL-A Driver to run local delivery routes in a tractor-trailer, starting as soon as possible.
Pay
- From $1,500.00 per week
What you'll haul
- Freight on local routes, including loads that may involve hazardous materials
What you'll do
- Drive a tractor-trailer safely on assigned local routes
- Follow GPS-guided routes to hit delivery windows while staying compliant with FMCSA and DOT rules
- Handle hazardous materials according to applicable regulations when required
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip checks on the truck, trailer and load
- Keep accurate records of loading, unloading, routes and any incidents
- Stay in contact with dispatch and customers to coordinate deliveries and handle any issues that come up
Requirements
- CDL Class A with proven commercial driving experience
- Comfortable with manual freight handling
- Solid understanding of FMCSA, DOT and hazmat safety rules
- Able to use GPS tools to plan and follow efficient routes
- Clean driving record
- Manual transmission experience is a plus
