About this job
Our company is hiring local CDL-A drivers in Rutland, VT to run assigned delivery routes in a tractor-trailer. You will hand-unload food and supply orders at customer sites and get to know the customers on your route.
Pay
- Starting rate of $33.53 per hour, plus bonus and incentive pay.
- The listing also shows a general pay range of $10.00 to $48.00; your actual rate depends on skills and experience.
Home time and schedule
- Most driver trainees run daily routes and are home every night.
- Overtime, weekends and holidays may be needed depending on business demand.
What you'll haul
- A mix of meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods and supplies.
- This is touch freight: expect to lift or move products averaging 40-60 lb, sometimes up to 100 lb, again and again.
Requirements
- Age 21 or older.
- Valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- Enough English to talk with the public, read road signs and complete reports.
- Nice to have: 1 year of customer delivery work, 6 months with hand carts, 6 months in food and beverage, and 2 years of steady work history.
