About this job

This is an over-the-road independent contractor (1099) driving position hauling loads in Arizona and Nevada. You pick the loads you want, get paid per mile plus a fuel surcharge, and can qualify for several bonuses. It is not a company driver or owner/operator role.

Pay

  • You earn a per-mile rate plus a fuel surcharge. The total, surcharge included, is $0.90 to $1.35 per mile depending on the load. A separate wage range line in the posting lists $0.72 to $1.35 per mile, so confirm the exact rate with the company.
  • The fuel surcharge is figured from your truck type, loaded miles and the weekly national fuel average.
  • Drivers typically pay no more than $1.45 per gallon out of pocket for fuel.
  • Same Day Pay is available once your required paperwork and logs are submitted and verified.

Bonuses

Bonus programs are open to qualifying drivers, and eligibility requirements apply:

  • Referral bonus: Summer Referral Bonus of up to $600 for each driver you refer who gets contracted
  • Clean inspection bonus
  • Mileage bonus
  • Load bonus
  • Safety bonus

How the work runs

  • This is OTR work, not local or regional.
  • You choose which loads to take, but you need to complete 3 to 5 loads a month to stay active.
  • Show up on time for every pickup and delivery appointment.
  • Fill out all required paperwork completely on every load.
  • Keep accurate daily DOT logs in the MOTIVE app for the length of your contract. Paper logs are not accepted.
  • Check in with your dispatcher at least once a week, even in weeks when you are not hauling for them.

Requirements

  • Class A or Class B CDL
  • At least 1 full year of verifiable OTR CMV driving experience within the last 3 years
  • A fairly clean driving record and a solid work history
  • Solid understanding of DOT hours-of-service rules
  • Good communication and a professional, positive attitude
  • On-time submission of all documents

Benefits

  • None. This is a 1099 position with no benefits offered.

The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
