High Lift Catering Truck Driver — $21.81/hr

Our company is hiring a High Lift Driver at the Halifax airport unit in Goffs, Nova Scotia. You will drive a high-loader catering truck and load and unload aircraft according to flight schedules. The role reports to the Airside Team Leader and pays $21.81 an hour.

What you'll do

• Collect catering supplies and load or off-load them on time and securely, working with the other departments and the duty manager

• Do pre-trip checks on the truck and keep it clean

• Stock aircraft galleys in the right positions, following loading lists, labels, and health, safety and customer rules

• Tell the transport dispatcher about injuries, accidents, missing material or other irregular operations

• Follow all material, security, safety and company procedures

Requirements

• Class 5 driver's license at minimum; a CDL is a strong asset

• Clean driving record; you must pass a criminal background check and a driver's abstract

• High school diploma

• Experience in a similar role and in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting

• Good written and spoken English

• RAIC is a strong asset

Schedule and conditions

• 8-hour rotating shifts covering weekdays, weekends and holidays, with rotating weekends off

• Overtime when needed

• Physically demanding: standing, bending and lifting through shifts of 8+ hours, with noise and temperature changes

• You must be able to work at heights of 20-25 feet
