About this job
Our company, an equipment rental company, is hiring a truck driver at its Clayton, NC location to move construction and heavy equipment to and from job sites. You will drive both commercial and non-commercial vehicles and keep every haul safe and on schedule.
Pay
- $25-$28 per hour, with the final rate set by the company based on your qualifications, experience, location and fit.
What you'll do
- Deliver and pick up construction materials and heavy equipment.
- Complete DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keep delivery paperwork available for inspection.
- Secure each load with chains, straps and binders following DOT procedures.
- Keep the branch manager or dispatch informed about timing, delays, traffic and weather.
- Take part in the company safety culture and build good customer relationships.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of verifiable driving experience, or a valid CDL.
- Valid DOT medical card.
- Understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Able to lift 50 pounds or more regularly and work indoors and outdoors.
- Preferred: trailer towing or rollback, hauling, and construction equipment operating experience.
