DZ Roads Maintainer Driver — $35.76–$37.87/hr

The our company is hiring Roads Maintainers to handle road and sidewalk upkeep in summer and snow/ice control in winter, based out of the Kitchener Operations Facility. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week union role (CUPE Local 68).

Pay

• $35.76 To $37.87 Hourly, Grade/Band 7

What you'll do

• In warmer months, you'll fix asphalt: patching potholes, sealing cracks, cutting utility trenches, doing infrared repairs, and working at the asphalt plant

• You'll also handle concrete tasks like putting in and fixing sidewalks, curbs, gutters, catch basins and manholes, plus mud-jacking

• Pre-trip vehicle checks are required before each job

• When winter hits, you'll run tandem dump trucks fitted with plows, wings and salt/anti-icing spreaders to clear and haul snow, mix salt brine, run sidewalk plows, and shovel by hand where needed

• Other related tasks may come up as assigned

Requirements

• A Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

• A valid DZ class driver's license from the MTO in good standing

• Willingness to work shifts and be on call during winter weather events

• A dependable work history and solid attitude

• Good written communication and the ability to work well with coworkers and the public
