Our company in Montréal, QC is looking for a Class 1 truck driver to haul freight on short and long routes. You'll be trusted to keep deliveries on time while meeting strict safety standards.
Pay
- From $38.00 per hour
What you'll do
- Drive Class 1 trucks on short and long-distance runs, following traffic laws and safety rules
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, covering brakes, lights, tires and load security
- Load and unload freight, using a forklift or other equipment when the job calls for it
- Keep delivery, pickup and vehicle records accurate and up to date per company and legal rules
- Handle basic repairs or troubleshooting to keep your truck road-ready
- Stay in contact with dispatch, warehouse staff and clients to coordinate schedules and sort out issues
- Follow safety procedures for freight handling, equipment use and driving
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Solid background in commercial driving and freight hauling
- Forklift or other heavy equipment experience or certification
- Basic know-how in automotive troubleshooting and minor repairs
- Able to lift heavy loads and carry out physical vehicle inspections
- Good communication skills and careful attention to detail for recordkeeping
- Open to working different shifts, including weekends or overnight runs
