Class 1 Local Night Driver — $27.59/hr

Erb Transport is looking for a Class 1 night driver to run local delivery and pickup routes out of Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC, moving temperature-controlled freight for this long-established refrigerated carrier.

Pay

• $27.59/hr

• Paid overtime

Schedule

• Sunday to Thursday, starting at 10pm

• Erb runs 24/7, so departure times shift based on hours-of-service rules, and there's no fixed quitting time

• You can bid on a set run (awarded by seniority) or work as an open board driver taking whatever runs are dispatched

What you'll haul

• Temperature-controlled, perishable freight moving between Canada and the U.S.

• You'll deliver and pick up product at various stops and shuttle freight between Erb terminals

What the job involves

• Driving safely through all road, weather and temperature conditions

• Hitting delivery schedules and staying in touch with dispatch on pickups, drop-offs and any issues

• Doing pre-trip inspections and flagging the shop when equipment needs work

• Completing required paperwork and keeping freight correctly labeled

• Loading and unloading product safely

• Following hours-of-service and other rules in every jurisdiction you run through

• Logging and communicating through the onboard telematics system

• Attending safety meetings

Requirements

• Valid AZ/Class 1 license

• At least 1 year of verifiable driving experience on that license

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and health screening

• Must bring a CVOR, driver's abstract and copy of your license to the interview

• Employment reference check and criminal record check required

• PPE is provided and must be worn
