About this job
Haul freight over the road out of Fort Worth, TX, running tractor-trailers that may include reefers, flatbeds and tankers. You'll handle a mix of cargo, including hazmat loads, while keeping everything compliant and on schedule.
What you'll do
- Drive tractor-trailers (refrigerated, flatbed, tanker) under FMCSA and DOT rules
- Plan and follow OTR routes using GPS
- Load, unload and secure freight by hand, including proper securement for hazardous materials when required
- Carry freight such as auto parts, hazmat or general cargo in line with hazmat regulations
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections and keep paperwork in order
- Stay on schedule for deliveries and keep dispatch updated on status, route changes or safety issues
Requirements
- At least 1 year of freight-hauling experience
- Valid driver's license (CDL with hazmat or tanker endorsements preferred)
- Comfortable with manual transmission trucks
- Solid grasp of FMCSA/DOT rules, hazmat handling and load securement
- English required
- Able to commute to Fort Worth, TX
- Willing to travel about 75% of the time
- Available for day, night and overnight shifts
