About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL driver to run Amazon Relay freight out of Newark, NJ. You'll handle a mix of trailer types and keep deliveries moving on schedule while staying compliant with safety rules.
What you'll do
- Drive tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers and reefers, following FMCSA and DOT rules
- Plan routes with GPS and run OTR lanes to multiple stops
- Load and unload freight by hand or with equipment
- Haul hazmat loads when required, per hazardous materials regulations
- Secure cargo and complete shipment paperwork for auto transport jobs
- Do pre-trip and post-trip inspections to catch damage or unsafe conditions
- Keep accurate hours-of-service logs and delivery records
- Work with dispatch to stay on schedule and keep customers satisfied
Requirements
- Background in commercial or delivery driving within logistics or transportation
- Comfortable with manual transmission trucks
- Understanding of FMCSA hours-of-service, load securement and vehicle safety rules
- Able to use GPS for trip planning
- Capable of manual freight loading and unloading
- Valid CDL; hazmat or tanker endorsements are a plus but not required to start, and you should be willing to get certified if needed
- Experience with reefer, flatbed, tanker or hazmat freight is a plus
Pay
Starting at $2,100.00 per week.
