About this job

Our company contracts independent drivers to move units nationwide on OTR runs. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a company driver or owner-operator job, and you work solo, not as part of a team. You pick the loads that fit your schedule across divisions like Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom.

Pay

  • $0.72 to $1.55 per mile plus a fuel surcharge on most divisions, with the rate depending on the load and division
  • Same-day pay once your paperwork and logs are submitted and approved
  • Bonus programs available for referrals, clean inspections, mileage, loads, and safety

The work

  • Loads typically run 300 to 800 miles, depending on customer needs
  • You need to complete 3 to 5 loads per month to stay active, roughly 2 to 5 per month
  • Check in with your dispatcher at least weekly, even between loads
  • Pre-trip and post-trip inspections, photo documentation, and real-time tracking through MacroPoint for Truckers are required on every load
  • You cover your own fuel and are asked to keep at least a quarter tank during transport
  • Daily DOT logs must be kept through the Motive app; paper logs aren't accepted

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A or Class B (Deck positions need a Double/Triple endorsement)
  • At least 1 year of verifiable OTR commercial driving experience in the last 3 years (rideshare or delivery driving doesn't count)
  • Deck positions require 2 years of OTR experience plus 1 year of decking and un-decking experience in the last 3 years, within that same 3-year window
  • A reasonably clean driving record and steady work history
  • Able to supply DOT numbers from past employers and documentation of the companies you've hauled for over the last 3 years
  • Solid understanding of DOT hours-of-service rules
  • Your own tools and equipment for decking and un-decking
  • On-time paperwork, strong communication with dispatch, and punctuality at every pickup and delivery
  • Escrow, occupational/accidental insurance, and deductible buy-back insurance are required; details are shared during the application process

Benefits

This is a 1099 contractor role, so no company benefits are included.

The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
