About this job
Our company is looking for independent contractors to move units on over-the-road routes nationwide. This is a 1099 contractor position, not a company driver or owner-operator role, and you pick the loads that fit your schedule across divisions like Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom.
Pay
- Earn $0.72 to $1.55 per mile plus a fuel surcharge on most divisions, with the rate depending on the load and division
- Same-day pay is available once your paperwork and logs are submitted and approved
- Extra earning opportunities include referral, clean inspection, mileage, load, and safety bonuses
Schedule and loads
- You select your own loads but need to complete 3 to 5 per month to stay active
- Expect to run roughly 2 to 5 loads monthly while controlling your own schedule
- Typical loads run 300 to 800 miles depending on customer needs
- Despite the company name, all contracted positions are solo driving only, with no team driving involved
- A weekly check-in with your dispatcher is required even during periods without an active load
Requirements
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL (Deck positions need a Double/Triple endorsement)
- At least 1 year of verifiable OTR commercial driving experience in the past 3 years; Deck roles need 2 years of OTR experience plus 1 year of decking/un-decking experience in that same window
- Rideshare or delivery app driving (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Spark, etc.) doesn't count toward experience
- A reasonably clean driving record and steady work history
- Ability to supply DOT numbers from past employers and documentation of carriers you've hauled for over the last 3 years
- Solid understanding of DOT hours-of-service rules and daily electronic logging through the Motive app (paper logs aren't accepted)
- Your own tools for decking and un-decking trucks
- Timely submission of all paperwork and consistent communication with dispatch
- On-time arrival for every pickup and delivery
- A professional, reliable attitude on every run
- Use of MacroPoint for real-time load tracking
- Properly logged pre-trip and post-trip inspections and photo documentation for each load
- You cover your own fuel costs and should keep at least a quarter tank during transport
- Escrow, occupational/accidental insurance, and deductible buy-back insurance are required; details are shared during the application process
Benefits
This is a 1099 contractor position, so no company benefits are included.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
