About this job
Our company in Johnston, RI needs a driver to deliver home heating oil to customers across Northern and Central Rhode Island this winter. This is a seasonal role that could turn into year-round work, including bulk water delivery in summer for drivers who stay on.
Pay
- $30.00 to $32.00 per hour
Schedule
- Full time, part time, or seasonal
- Seasonal for winter heating oil season, with potential to continue into permanent or summer work
What you'll do
- Deliver heating oil to residential customers, including pulling a hose up to 150 feet
- Check customer equipment and prime oil lines to the burner when needed
- Run pre-trip inspections and load product at the terminal each day
- Drive the company vehicle safely and courteously
- Take and log customer payments
- Finish your delivery route and hand in paperwork at the end of your shift
- Keep yourself and the vehicle clean and presentable
- Read, write, and handle basic math in English
Requirements
- Valid CDL B with tanker and Hazmat endorsements (CDL A needed to be considered for summer work)
- TWIC card
- Current DOT medical card
- At least 1 year of experience delivering heating oil
- Clean driving history
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- Must meet state and federal DOT safety standards
