CDL-A Yard Jockey/Switcher — $25.00/hr

Our company in Edison, NJ is looking for a full-time yard jockey to handle trailer switching on the overnight shift, from 6:30pm to 3:00am. You'll coordinate with inbound and outbound staff to keep trailers moving safely and efficiently around the yard.

Pay

• $25.00 per hour

What you'll do

• Work with the Inbound and Outbound Coordinators to decide where trailers go and in what order

• Spot trailers at the right doors, chock the tires, and set the trailer jacks

• Check containers for damage or tampering and flag any issues to management

• Pull trailers once cleared, shut the doors, and confirm the seal is secure

• Reposition trailers to the staging area, parking them back-to-back for security

• Remind drivers to follow the Logistics Manager's safety procedures

• Suggest ways to make the yard safer and more efficient

• Follow OSHA, CTPAT/FTZ, fire, and other safety rules

• Check the yard truck each day and report any mechanical concerns

• Keep the yard clean by clearing away trash and debris

Requirements

• CDL-A license

• Valid driver's license

• At least 1 year of driving experience

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience

• Previous trailer-switching experience

• Strong verbal and written communication

• Good customer service and organizational skills

• Comfortable multitasking and meeting deadlines in a busy environment
