About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL-A truck driver in Phoenix, AZ to run tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples, and get home every day. You'll handle freight, serve customers, and may need to travel in all kinds of weather.
Pay
- Experienced drivers can start at $36.30/hour
- This role is classified as exempt under the Motor Carrier Act
Home time
- Home daily
Schedule
- Shifts can run up to 12-14 hours and may fall on days, nights or weekends
- You may drive up to 11 hours in a row while hauling hazardous or non-hazardous materials
What you'll haul
- Tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples
- Freight that you'll load and unload yourself
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Class A CDL
- Clean driving history
- Willing to get hazmat, tank vehicle and doubles/triples endorsements within 90 days if you don't already have them
- Must pass a DOT drug screen, with no positive results or refusals in the past 3 years
- Valid DOT medical card, or ability to pass a DOT physical paid for by the company
- Able to lift items that are frequently up to 50 lbs and sometimes over 75 lbs, and move a converter dolly weighing around 128 lbs
- Comfortable climbing in and out of the cab, sitting for long stretches, and working on your feet on uneven or wet ground, including outdoors in bad weather
- Able to reach overhead, bend, twist, push, pull, squat and kneel as needed
- Forklift experience and existing endorsements are a plus, not required
- Must read and speak English well enough to talk with the public, understand road signs, answer official questions, and fill out reports
