About this job
This role puts you behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer, handling both local and long-haul runs for our company in McAllen, TX. Depending on the load, you could be pulling a reefer, a flatbed, a tanker, hauling vehicles, or moving hazardous materials.
Pay
- $25.90 to $31.19 per hour
What you'll haul
- Assignments vary and may include refrigerated trailers, flatbed loads, tankers, vehicle transport, or dangerous goods shipments
What you'll do
- Operate a tractor-trailer on both local and over-the-road assignments
- Stay compliant with DOT and FMCSA rules while driving
- Check and secure your cargo, including hands-on loading and unloading when required
- Navigate using GPS and keep your delivery schedule on track, flagging any route or shipment problems
- Apply hazmat handling rules whenever dangerous goods are on board
Requirements
- Current Class A CDL and comfort driving a tractor-trailer
- Able to drive a manual transmission
- Prior truck or delivery driving experience is a plus
- Familiarity with freight handling, loading/unloading, or vehicle transport is helpful
- Understanding of DOT, FMCSA and hazmat rules is valued
