CDL-A Traveling Grinding & Grooving Equipment Driver

Our company, Inc. in Grand Prairie, TX needs a CDL-A driver to haul grinding and grooving equipment to job sites around the country in support of roadway and airport construction work. This role involves extended time on the road and frequent overnight travel away from home.

What you'll haul

• Grinding and grooving machines, support vehicles and construction materials, moved safely to sites nationwide

• Oversized and heavy loads that must be properly secured for transport

What you'll do

• Run pre-trip and post-trip inspections and stay current on DOT compliance

• Help load, unload, mobilize and demobilize equipment at each site

• Pitch in with crew setup, fueling, maintenance and general labor tasks between hauls

• Keep up with logbooks, inspection reports and other required paperwork

• Stay in contact with supervisors and project teams on delivery status and equipment moves

• Flag mechanical problems and help arrange repairs

• Follow company safety rules, DOT regulations and site-specific requirements

• Take on other tasks as needed

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL

• Clean enough driving record to meet DOT standards

• Background hauling heavy construction equipment

• Prior experience in heavy civil construction

• Comfortable operating lowboy, flatbed or other specialized trailers

• OSHA 10 Certification

• Willing and able to travel extensively across the U.S. and stay away from home for long stretches

• Available for overtime, nights, weekends and schedules that shift with project needs

• Safety-focused, team-oriented, and able to handle a fast-moving construction environment
