About this job
Our company, an LTL carrier under TFI International, is looking for a CDL-A Road Driver to run regional and non-regional routes out of Montgomery, NY. You'll be home daily and haul no-touch freight, with a non-contributory pension on top of your pay.
Pay
- Starting rate listed at $30.56/hr
- Mileage pay: $0.70 single / $0.37 sleeper
Home time
- Home daily
What you'll haul
- Palletized and heavy less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments
- No-touch freight
- Regional, interregional and long-haul lanes, including cross-border moves
What you'll do
- Drive a commercial vehicle to deliver goods on time and safely
- Check that your load is secured before you head out
- Handle customer questions and keep service quality high
- Run pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and flag any repairs needed
- Follow DOT and company safety rules
- Keep accurate records of hours, routes and freight condition
- Stay in touch with dispatch about schedules, delays or problems
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL in your home state
- Hazmat, tanker and doubles endorsements
- Minimum age 21
- Clean 10-year work history for your application, per FMCSA rules
- Able to meet all DOT and company standards
- Able to perform the job safely without risk to yourself or coworkers
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Good organizational and time-management skills
