About this job
Butch's Propane in Odessa, TX is looking for a full-time CDL-A driver to haul and deliver propane to homes and businesses. You'll need a Class A CDL with both HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements, plus three years of relevant driving experience.
What you'll haul
- Propane deliveries to residential and commercial customers, using a truck rated at least 26,000 lbs GVW
Responsibilities
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and file DVIRs
- Safely position, load, and unload the truck, including coupling and uncoupling trailers
- Follow dispatch instructions and confirm routes and delivery details
- Track hours and vehicle condition in line with state and federal rules
- Report any accidents, violations, or mechanical issues right away
- Use tools like a Samsung tablet, the Samsara app, and Cargas to stay in touch with dispatch
- Collect signatures or payment when needed and send bill of lading paperwork to the office
- Handle basic maintenance and minor roadside repairs when necessary
- Follow all safety protocols for transporting hazardous materials and wear required PPE
Requirements
- Class A CDL with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements
- Three years of related driving experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- CETP certification through the Propane Education & Research Council (and Texas Railroad Commission certification if based in Texas)
Work environment
Expect outdoor work with varying hours and locations depending on demand; schedules and start times can shift day to day.
