About this job
Our company is looking for CDL-A OTR drivers out of Houston, TX. Choose how you work: company driver, lease-to-own, or bring your own truck as an owner-operator. Freight runs year-round, including winter, so you keep moving instead of waiting on loads.
What you'll haul
You'll pull flatbed, stepdeck, conestoga, reefer or dry van. Most trucks are 2023-2026 Freightliner Cascadias, serviced in the company's own shop.
Pay
Company drivers on flatbed, stepdeck or conestoga earn 32% of gross; those trucks typically gross $12,000-$16,000 a week, putting driver pay around $3,840-$5,120 weekly. On reefer or dry van, company drivers earn 30% of gross, with trucks grossing $10,000-$15,000 a week, or about $3,000-$4,500 for the driver. Team drivers earn 32% of gross. If you'd rather run by the mile, CPM pay starts at $0.80/mile. Clean DOT inspections can earn you up to a $500 bonus.
For lease-to-own drivers, you keep 88% of gross running a 2024-27 truck on any trailer type (flatbed, stepdeck, conestoga, reefer or dry van). With trucks grossing $10,000-$16,000 a week, that 88% share comes to roughly $8,800-$14,080 before fuel, the truck payment and other costs. Owner-operators running their own truck also keep 88% of gross.
Overall pay across all options ranges from $3,000.00 to $5,120.00 per week. Drivers are paid weekly as 1099 contractors.
Home time
Expect to run 3,000-4,200 miles a week and stay out 3-4 weeks at a stretch. If you live in or near Illinois, you'll get home every 2 weeks.
Support
Driver support is available 24/7.
Requirements
You'll need a Class A CDL, at least 2 years of verifiable OTR experience, and at least 6 months of experience on whichever trailer type you plan to run. Your driving record should be clean; minor violations are fine, and not-at-fault accidents are okay as long as there's a police report.
Benefits
A lease purchase program is available for drivers who want to work toward owning their truck.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
