About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL-A team driver to haul explosives-related freight over the road across the United States. You'll run as part of a two-person team in a company-provided sleeper tractor-trailer, handling loading, unloading and delivery to customer sites.
What you'll haul
- Materials transported to and from customer locations nationwide, with loading, unloading and inventory counts before and after each trip
- You'll share driving duties with a teammate and rest in the sleeper berth while they drive
Requirements
- At least 21 years old, per DOT rules
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of driving experience, or completion of a CDL training course
- Current Class A CDL covering any combination over 26,001 pounds
- Hazmat, X (tank plus hazmat combo) and air brake endorsements
- Able to obtain an ATF license to handle explosives, and meet all state and federal explosive-handling laws
- Comfortable with basic math and reading technical materials like safety rules and operating manuals
- Able to recognize products by sight and handle physical tasks: walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs repeatedly
Work environment
- Outdoor conditions with exposure to dust, noise, oils, greases and debris
- Expect to complete pre- and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and keep accurate paperwork for DOT and other agencies
