CDL-A OTR Reefer Driver — Trainees Welcome, $1,200–$1,400/wk

Run OTR reefer freight across all 48 states for a major nationwide carrier. This drop-and-hook, live-load/unload, no-touch-freight role welcomes both experienced drivers and recent CDL school graduates, with new automatic Freightliner Cascadias on the fleet.

Schedule and home time

• Expect to be out 3-4 weeks at a time, with 3-4 days home between runs.

• You earn 1 day off for every 6 days out, up to a maximum of 4 days.

• Weekly average mileage runs 2,600-2,800 miles, with an average haul length of 750 miles.

Pay

• All miles are paid, with weekly direct deposit.

• Trainees (within 6 months of finishing CDL school, no experience needed) start on a flat $700/week during a 4-week training period.

• After training, new drivers start at $0.50 per mile, moving to $0.51 after 6 months of service and $0.52 after 12 months.

• Drivers with experience are paid by years on the road: $0.56/mile for up to 2 years, $0.57/mile for 3-4 years, $0.58/mile for 5-6 years, and $0.59/mile for 7+ years.

• You also get $20.00 per stop.

• Typical weekly earnings run $1,200-$1,400.

• You're paid as a W2 employee.

What you'll haul

• Reefer trailers, 53-foot tractor-trailer equipment.

• Freight is drop-and-hook or live load/unload, and it's no-touch.

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A required.

• Either 1 year of 53' tractor-trailer OTR experience within the last 3 years, or 6 months of OTR tractor-trailer experience plus 120 hours from an accredited truck driving school, or no experience at all if you're within 6 months of completing a 120-hour CDL program.

• A TWIC card is required; the carrier will help you obtain one and covers the related costs.

• No criminal history and no drug or alcohol violations.

• No preventable accidents or moving violations, ever, and a clean MVR with no tickets.

• Your CDL address needs to match the hiring area.

• Drug screening is done by urine test only; SAP drivers are not accepted.
