CDL-A OTR Reefer Driver — Home Monthly

Swift Transportation's Phoenix terminal needs OTR drivers to haul temperature-controlled freight across the country. You'll run coast-to-coast lanes with a variety of load options.

Pay

• Trip pay runs from $.43 to $.58 per dispatched mile, based on your route and experience.

• The top 25% of OTR Reefer drivers out of the Phoenix terminal bring home around $1200 a week on average.

• Paychecks come weekly.

• Starting July 13, 2026, new eligible OTR company drivers get a guaranteed minimum of $1,000 a week for their first 90 days of solo driving, under the Guaranteed Pay Plus+ program. Ask a recruiter for the full terms.

• After a year on the job, vacation pay starts at $800.

Home time

You'll be home once a month.

What you'll haul

Refrigerated, temperature-controlled freight, running OTR out of the Phoenix terminal. Swift operates more than 30 terminals across 25 states, and there's room to grow into other roles over time. Drivers also get access to a new fuel network and free showers. Be ready for occasional holiday work and know that tight backing skills matter for this job.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL.

• No DUI in the past 10 years for CDL-A holders, or past 5 years for non-CDL-A holders.

• At most 1 preventable on-road or DOT loss in the last 2 years, no more than 3 preventable accidents in that span, and no major preventable accident in the last 5 years.

• No serious traffic violations in the last year, and no more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years.

• Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screening, with no drug conviction in the last 5 years and no illegal drug use or positive/refused tests in the last 10 years for CDL-A/CLP holders.
