About this job
Our company needs a CDL-A driver for a local US Mail route out of Huntington Station, NY. This is a part-time, home-daily position with a steady, repeating schedule.
Pay
- Base rate of $31.32 per hour plus $5.76 HWP, totaling $37.08 per hour
- HWP funds company group coverage and is paid for up to 40 hours per week
- Paid orientation and paid quarterly safety training
- Referral program pays up to $1,000 for each driver you bring on
Schedule
- Part-time, working Friday through Sunday, 2:45 am to 12:45 pm
- Fixed, consistent route
- Up to 29 hours per week
What you'll haul
- US Mail on a set local route based in Huntington Station, NY
Requirements
- Valid driver's license held at least 2 years, with 2 years of CDL-A experience
- 2 years of manual transmission experience
- Clean MVR/PSP and ability to pass a criminal background check
- Able to lift 50 lbs overhead, bend, and lift using legs, arms, and back
- Able to climb into and out of the truck using three points of contact
- Able to get onto the catwalk behind the cab and stay steady while hooking up the trailer
- Able to push and pull wheeled carts over 100 lbs
- Able to bend to pull the fifth-wheel release lock and crank the landing gear by hand
- Able to bend and reach underneath the trailer to check the pin lock connection to the fifth wheel
- Able to sit and drive for at least 4 hours straight without a break
