CDL-A Local Driver — 4-Day Overnight Schedule, Home Weekly

Our company is hiring a local CDL-A driver to run overnight trips between the Gilbert and Marana stores in Arizona. You'll work a set overnight schedule with most of your freight already planned out, hauling AFW's own product.

Schedule

• Friday night through Monday night, 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM

• Four 10-hour shifts with 3 days off every week

• Mainly round trips from the Gilbert store to the Marana store, twice per night

What you'll haul

• You'll move AFW's own furniture freight, not third-party loads

• About 75% of loads are drop and hook

• Roughly 98% of freight is no-touch

• Routes and stops are planned ahead of time by the dispatch team

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions

• At least one year of recent over-the-road experience with similar equipment

• No major FMCSA violations

• Clean driving record with no at-fault, DOT-reportable accidents in the past 3 years

• Able to drive a manual transmission, with no CDL restriction against it

• High school diploma or GED preferred, though equivalent experience is accepted

The work

You'll drive and inspect your assigned truck and trailer, follow routes set by dispatch, and log your hours electronically using Omnitracs. You'll stay in touch with dispatch and AFW staff by phone through the McLeod system, follow DOT, FMCSA and OSHA rules, and report any equipment issues to the garage team. Expect to work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather, climb in and out of the cab regularly, and handle items weighing 50 to 100 pounds. AFW provides all training.
