About this job
Our company is hiring Class A CDL drivers to haul live poultry from a facility in Talladega, AL out to area farms. You'll be paid from the moment you arrive at the facility until you return, with drivers averaging $100,000+ a year through hourly pay plus an overnight incentive.
Pay
- Hourly pay plus an overnight incentive, averaging $100,000+ annually
- Paid for all time from facility arrival until your return
Home time
- Home every weekend
- Typically 1-2 deliveries per day
What you'll haul
- Live poultry, delivered to designated farms in a Class A tractor-trailer
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least 21 years old
- 3+ years of OTR driving experience preferred
- Clean driving record, background check and drug screening
- Able to repeatedly handle poultry crates and lift 75-100 lbs
- Comfortable climbing in and out of the cab and working nights, weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a Class A tractor-trailer to farm delivery sites
- Load and unload poultry crates by hand
- Keep accurate trip, equipment, time and weight records
- Clean and sanitize the truck during and after runs
- Report any equipment or maintenance concerns
- Follow DOT rules and the company's safety and biosecurity standards
