CDL-A Linehaul Truck Driver — $0.8539/mile or $37.27/hr

Our company needs a CDL-A linehaul driver in Windsor, WI to haul trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable.

Pay

• $0.8539 per mile for linehaul work

• $37.27 per hour for non-linehaul work

What you'll do

• Run tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable

• Complete pre-trip and safety checks on your equipment each day

• Hook and unhook trailers and converter dollies

• Keep accurate logs and finish all required paperwork

• Stay in contact with dispatch on delays, arrivals and equipment issues

• Follow hazmat rules and procedures

• Chain tires when conditions call for it

• Load and unload freight as needed

• Fill in on city driving or dock work when the business needs it

Requirements

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tanker endorsements (hazmat endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of your offer if you don't already have it; you can't drive without it after that window)

• Automatic transmission restriction on your CDL is acceptable

• At least 1 year of driving experience in the past 3 years, or completion of the our company Driver Development Course

• Clean enough motor vehicle record to meet company hiring standards

• Must satisfy DOT qualification rules under FMCSA Part 391

• If running long combination vehicles (triples, Rocky Mountain doubles, turnpike doubles) in AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD or UT, you must meet the LCV certification standards for those states

• Comfortable with basic written and spoken communication for logs and coordinating with coworkers and supervisors

• Able to hook and unhook trailer sets requiring roughly 100 pounds of lift force multiple times a day

• Able to sit for long stretches, plus bend, twist, squat and climb in and out of the cab

• Willing and able to complete required training and follow instructions

• Comfortable working solo or as part of a team, with initiative and motivation

Working conditions

• Long-distance driving day and night in all weather and road conditions

• Exposure to noise, vibration, dust and diesel exhaust

• Possible exposure to DOT-regulated hazardous materials

• Schedule and hours can shift based on business needs, and some routes may involve overnight stays
