CDL-A Hazmat Tanker Driver — Home Weekends, $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

You will run a set regional territory hauling helium cylinders to the same repeat customers week after week. No cold deliveries or last-minute dispatch changes, and you will be back home every weekend.

Pay and bonuses

• Hourly wage plus overtime, with especially strong overtime availability from January through June

• $3,000 sign-on bonus, paid out in installments

• Safety bonus of up to $2,000 per year for driving safely

Home time and schedule

• You head out Monday morning and work through Thursday or Friday, then return home for the weekend

• Expect 3 to 4 nights away per week depending on your zone

• The territory splits into 4 zones, and you stay in the same zone for the whole week

• You sleep in hotels along the route, not in a sleeper cab

What you'll haul

• Helium compressed gas cylinders, delivered to scheduled customers you'll see regularly

• Brand new tractor and trailer

What the job involves

• Loading and unloading cylinders and bringing empties back to the fill plant

• Daily pre-trip and safety inspections on your vehicle

• Completing delivery records and staying on top of DOT requirements

• Getting to know your regular customers and helping track their cylinder inventory

Requirements

• Class A CDL with a Hazmat endorsement

• Either 1 year of driving experience, or completion of driving school within the last 4 years

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Enough English to talk with customers, read road signs, answer official questions, and fill out reports

Physical demands

• Regular lifting of 25 to 75 lbs, with occasional loads up to 100+ lbs

• Frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, and handling of materials

• Outdoor work in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees

• Being able to notice a gas leak from a cylinder by sound or smell
