CDL-A Hazmat Driver — Regional Route, Home Weekends

Run a dedicated regional route hauling helium cylinders to the same repeat customers week after week. No cold calls or scrambling for loads, just a consistent territory and weekends off.

Schedule

This route runs regional, not home-daily, so expect nights away during the week. You leave Monday morning, work the road through Thursday or Friday with 3 to 4 overnights depending on the zone, and you're back home by Friday. The territory splits into 4 zones, and you'll cover one zone per week so the area stays familiar. You sleep in hotels, not in a truck bunk.

Pay and bonuses

You're paid hourly with overtime available, and overtime opportunities run especially strong from January through June. There's a sign-on bonus of $3,000 or more, paid out in installments, plus a safety bonus of up to $2,000 per year for driving safely. Clean DOT stops come with their own rewards too.

What you'll haul

You'll deliver helium compressed gas cylinders, a clean, non-flammable product, to scheduled repeat accounts. The work includes loading and unloading cylinders, bringing empties back to the fill plant, and helping customers keep track of their inventory needs over time.

Requirements

• Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement

• At least 1 year of driving experience, or completion of driving school within the last 4 years

• High school diploma or equivalent

• English skills sufficient to talk with customers, read road signs, respond to officials, and fill out reports

The equipment and physical demands

You'll drive a new tractor and trailer. The job involves regular lifting of 25 to 75 lbs (occasionally more), along with frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, and handling. You'll work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees, and you need to be able to notice a gas leak from a cylinder by smell or sound.
