About this job
Our company in Palmer, TX is looking for an experienced CDL-A flatbed driver to run regional routes in the Southeast Region, with occasional longer OTR stretches. You'll be home weekly, though some weeks may keep you out a couple of extra days.
Pay
- $2,000.00 - $4,000.00 per week
Home time
- Home weekly, with occasional trips that run a couple of days longer
What you'll haul
- Flatbed, step deck and RGN loads, including freight that needs manual securement
- General freight, hazmat/dangerous goods, and vehicle transport
Responsibilities
- Run tractor-trailers in flatbed configuration while staying compliant with FMCSA and DOT rules
- Secure and handle freight on flatbeds, step decks and RGNs, including manual loading and unloading at delivery points
- Plan routes and navigate using GPS for both regional and OTR driving
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the truck, trailer and cargo
- Keep accurate logs covering hours, deliveries, inspections and other required compliance records
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with a clean driving record; flatbed experience preferred
- Solid background in commercial truck driving, including delivery and route work over varied terrain
- Comfortable with manual transmission, cargo securement and load/unload procedures
- Able to use GPS systems for planning and adjusting routes in real time
- Understanding of FMCSA and DOT regulations; hazmat and tanker knowledge a plus if the role calls for it
- Prior freight or delivery driving experience strongly preferred
