CDL-A Driver — Home Every 34-Hour Reset, New Grads Welcome

Run a set West Valley loop out of Phoenix to Las Vegas or St. George, over into Southern California, and back. New CDL grads are welcome, and our company will train you through every stage of getting started.

Pay and miles

• Training pay is $850 per week

• Once you're solo, your first 3 months are guaranteed at $1,000 a week

• After that, average pay runs $1,100 to $1,300 a week

• Expect 1,600 to 2,100 miles weekly

• Drop and hook makes up 80 to 90% of your loads

• Stop pay is $10 for the first stop and $15 for each one after

• Paychecks come weekly

Home time

You're home for every 34-hour reset.

Getting started

A recruiter starts by reviewing your license and driving record with you over the phone. Orientation runs up to 2 days, with hotel costs covered and a one-way bus ticket reimbursed; once hired, you're paid $300 for orientation. From there, you'll spend 4 to 6 weeks with a trainer riding along to cover backing, trip planning, logs and fueling, earning $850 a week throughout. After that, you get your own assigned truck, averaging about 1.5 years old, either automatic or 10-speed, and your pay guarantee of $1,000 a week kicks in for your first 3 months running solo.

What the job is like

You'll keep the same driver leader and planner each week, and your routes are mapped out in advance, with help a phone call away if you run into trouble. Expect California traffic as a regular part of the route.

Requirements

• Must be 21 or older with a Class A CDL

• Either a recent CDL school grad with 120+ hours of training, or 6 months of recent driving experience

• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years, and no DUI/DWI in the last 10 years

• Must pass a DOT physical along with hair and urine drug testing
