CDL-A Driver — Home Daily

Our company in Islandia, NY needs a full-time CDL-A driver who can deliver freight safely and on schedule. You'll go home every day and get support from a company that treats drivers well.

What you'll haul

• Freight and goods to assigned destinations

• Comfortable handling flatbeds, refrigerated units, dry vans, tankers and other trailer types

• Loading, unloading and securing cargo properly

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial vehicles in line with DOT and state rules

• Do pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keep accurate logs

• Stay in contact with dispatch about routes, delays and delivery updates

• Keep your driving record clean and follow all traffic laws

• Check on vehicle condition and flag mechanical problems right away

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A

• At least 2 years of commercial driving experience

• Clean record, no major violations or accidents

• Pass DOT physical and medical certification, including drug and alcohol (follicle) testing

• Solid grasp of DOT rules and Hours of Service requirements

• Able to work independently, stay organized and hit deadlines

• Detail-oriented and dependable, with good communication skills

• Comfortable driving manual transmission vehicles
