CDL-A Driver — $29.00/hr, Linden, NJ

Our company is looking for a CDL-A driver in Linden, NJ, to haul freight to customers and distribution centers on a set overnight shift. You'll handle inspections, load security and paperwork while keeping safety and service front and center.

Pay

• $29.00/hr, paid bi-weekly

• This is the anticipated starting rate and may be adjusted based on market conditions and location; final pay is confirmed with the selected candidate

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM

What you'll haul

• Freight delivered along assigned routes to customers and distribution centers

• LTL or city driving experience is a plus

What you'll do

• Drive a Class A tractor-trailer safely on assigned routes and schedules

• Complete pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections

• Load, secure and protect cargo in transit, and help load or unload freight as needed

• Keep accurate logs, bills of lading, inspection reports and delivery paperwork

• Stay in contact with dispatch on routes, delays, deliveries and vehicle issues

• Maneuver safely around docks, yards and customer lots

• Report accidents, violations, mechanical issues or unsafe conditions right away

• Keep your vehicle, workspace and appearance professional

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record

• Current DOT medical certificate

• Working knowledge of DOT rules, hours-of-service and compliance standards

• Comfortable driving tractor-trailers in different weather and road conditions

• Good communication, judgment and problem-solving skills

• Able to work independently, handle overtime or flexible hours as needed

• Must speak, read and write English

• Able to get in and out of the truck frequently, along with standing, bending, climbing and lifting up to 75 lbs as the job requires

You're expected to follow all company, DOT, OSHA and (where relevant) TSA safety rules, plus any customer site rules, and to report accidents, injuries, damage or safety concerns immediately.
