CDL-A Delivery Driver — Home Nightly, $21.00/hr

Our company, a wholesale distributor of paper, packaging, and wide-format supplies, needs a CDL-A delivery driver based out of Birmingham, AL. You'll run loads from the Athens warehouse to local business customers and other Athens distribution centers, starting at 6:00 AM each day until the route is finished.

Pay

• $21.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly

• Overtime available

• Pay can differ depending on whether you hold a Class A or Class B CDL

Home time

• Home every night

• Monday through Friday schedule

• Daily start time is 6:00 AM; length of day varies since you work until the route is done

What you'll haul

• Paper, packaging, industrial, and wide-format products and equipment

• Deliveries go to area businesses and other our company Distribution Centers

• Trucks range up to a gross vehicle weight rating of 54,000-80,000 pounds

Requirements

• Class A CDL, current and in good standing

• High school diploma or GED

• 6 months of delivery experience or 1 year of OTR experience preferred (1 year delivery driving preferred per listing)

• Valid DOT medical card

• Comfortable operating a manual or powered pallet jack and pushing/pulling a hand truck

• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and stay on your feet throughout the shift

• Strong customer service skills and a dependable, team-oriented attitude

Duties

• Load and unload freight

• Talk with customers about pickup and delivery details

• Follow traffic laws and report any road incidents to your supervisor

• Flag mechanical issues to the right staff and keep your truck and gear clean and running well

• Collect customer payments and handle delivery paperwork like receipts and confirmations

• Keep an accurate driver's log using an electronic logging device, per DOT rules
